அவர்கள் சகோதரராகிய மற்ற லேவியர் தேவனுடைய ஆலயமாகிய வாசஸ்தலத்தின் பணிவிடைக்கெல்லாம் வைக்கப்பட்டிருந்தார்கள்.

ஏமானும் ஆசாப்பின் சகோதரர்களும் லேவியின் கோத்திரத்தைச் சேர்ந்தவர்கள். லேவியின் கோத்திரத்தில் வந்தவர்கள் லேவியர்கள் என்று அழைக்கப்பட்டனர். இவர்கள் பரிசுத்தக் கூடாரத்தில் சேவைசெய்ய தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டார்கள். இப்பரிசுத்தக் கூடாரமே தேவனுடைய ஆலயம்.
