கர்த்தர் தாவீதின் சத்துருக்களாகிய ஒவ்வொருவரையும் பூமியின்மேல் இராதபடிக்கு, வேர் அறுக்கும்போதும், நீர் என்றைக்கும் உமது தயவை என் வீட்டைவிட்டு அகற்றிவிடாமலும் இருக்கவேண்டும் என்றான்.

இப்போதும் நீ எனக்குப் பின்னிருக்கும் என் சந்ததியை வேரறுப்பதில்லை என்றும், என் தகப்பன் வீட்டாரில் என் பெயரை அழித்துப்போடுவதில்லை என்றும் கர்த்தர்மேல் எனக்கு ஆணையிட்டுக் கொடு என்றான்.

யோனத்தான்நிமித்தம் என்னால் தயவுபெறத்தக்கவன் எவனாவது சவுலின் வீட்டாரில் இன்னும் மீதியாயிருக்கிறவன் உண்டா என்று தாவீது கேட்டான்.
