ராஜா அர்வனாவைப் பார்த்து: அப்படியல்ல; நான் இலவசமாய் வாங்கி, என் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு சர்வாங்க தகனபலிகளைச் செலுத்தாமல், அதை உன் கையிலே விலைக்கிரயமாய் வாங்குவேன் என்று சொல்லி, தாவீது அந்தக் களத்தையும் மாடுகளையும் ஐம்பது சேக்கல் நிறை வெள்ளிக்குக் கொண்டான்.

ஆனால் அரசன் அர்வனாவுக்கு, “நான் உனக்கு உண்மையைச் சொல்வேன், உன் நிலத்தை ஒரு விலை கொடுத்துப் பெறுவேன். ஆனால் எனது தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு இலவசமாக கிடைத்த எந்த தகன பலியையும் செலுத்தமாட்டேன்” எனக் கூறினான். ஆகையால் தாவீது போரடிக்கிற களத்தையும் பசுக்களையும் 50 சேக்கல் வெள்ளிக்கு வாங்கினான்.
