தேவன் சொன்னார்: “மனுபுத்திரனே, எனக்காக ஜனங்களிடம் கூறு, இவற்றைச் சொல், ‘எனது கர்த்தராகிய ஆண்டவர் அம்மோன் ஜனங்களிடமும் அவர்களின் அவமானத்திற்குரிய பொய்த் தேவனிடமும் இவற்றைச் சொல்கிறார்: “‘பார், ஒரு வாள்! வாள் உறையிலிருந்து வெளியே உள்ளது. வாள் கூர்மையாக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது! வாள் கொலை செய்யத் தயாராக இருக்கிறது. இது மின்னலைப் போன்று ஒளிவிட கூர்மையாக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது!

நீயோ, மானிடா! இறைவாக்குரை. அம்மோனியரையும் அவர்களின் பழிப்புரையையும் குறித்துத் தலைவராகிய ஆண்டவர் கூறுவது இதுவே; இதோ வாள்! கொலை செய்வதற்காக வாள் உருவப்பட்டுள்ளது. மின்னலைப் போல் ஒளிர்ந்து, வெட்டி வீழ்த்துவதற்காக அது கூர்மையாக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
