ஆகையால் அந்தச் சீஷன் மரிப்பதில்லை என்கிற பேச்சு சகோதரருக்குள்ளே பரம்பிற்று. ஆனாலும், அவன் மரிப்பதில்லையென்று இயேசு சொல்லாமல், நான் வருமளவுமύ இவனிருக்க எனக்குச் சித்தமޠΩால் உனக்கென்னவென்று சொன்னார்.

ஆகையால் சீஷர்களிடம் ஒரு கதை பரவிற்று. அதாவது இயேசு அன்பாயிருக்கும் அந்த சீஷன் மரணம் அடைவது இல்லை என்று சீஷர்கள் பேசிக்கொண்டனர். ஆனால் அவன் மரணம் அடைவதில்லை என்று இயேசு கூறவில்லை. அவர் “நான் வரும்வரைக்கும் இவன் இருக்க எனக்கு விருப்பம். அதைப்பற்றி நீ கவலைப்பட வேண்டாம்” என்றே கூறினார்.
