யோசுவா 21:1
அப்பொழுது லேவியரின் வம்சப் பிதாக்களின் தலைவர்; கானான் தேசத்திலிருக்கிற சீலோவிலே ஆசாரியனாகிய எலெயாசாரிடத்திலும், நூனின் குமாரனாகிய யோசுவாவிடனித்திலும், இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரருடைய கோத்திரப் பிதாக்களிலுள்ள தலைவரிடத்திலும் சேர்ந்து வந்து:

கானான் தேசத்திலே இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் சுதந்தரித்துக்கொண்ட தேசங்களை ஆசாரியனாகிய எலெயாசாரும், நூனின் குமாரனாகிய யோசுவாவும் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரருடைய கோத்திரப் பிதாக்களின் தலைவரும், கர்த்தர் மோசேயைக்கொண்டு கட்டளையிட்டபடி சீட்டுப்போட்டு,

ஆசாரியனாகிய எலெயாசாரும், நூனின் குமாரனாகிய யோசுவாவும், கோத்திரப்பிதாக்களுடைய தலைவரும் சீலோவிலே ஆசரிப்புக் கூடாரத்தின் வாசலிலே கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரின் கோத்திரங்களுக்குச் சீட்டுப்போட்டுக் கொடுத்த சுதந்தரங்கள் இவைகளே; இவ்விதமாய் அவர்கள் தேசத்தைப் பங்கிட்டு முடித்தார்கள்.

அவர்களுடைய பிதாக்கள் வீட்டாரின் தலைவர் யாரென்றால், இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு முதல் பிறந்தவனாகிய ரூபனுடைய குமாரர் ஆனோக்கு, பல்லூ, எஸ்ரோன், கர்மீ; இவர்கள் ரூபனுடைய வம்சங்களின் தலைவர்.
