யெருபாகாலின் எழுபது குமாரருக்குச் செய்யப்பட்ட கொடுமை வந்து பலித்து, அவர்களுடைய இரத்தப்பழி அவர்களைக் கொன்ற அவர்களுடைய சகோதரனாகிய அபிமெலேக்கின்மேலும், தன் சகோதரரைக் கொல்ல அவன் கைகளைத் திடப்படுத்தின சீகேம் மனுஷர் மேலும் சுமரும்படியாகச் சீகேமின் பெரிய மனுஷர் அபிமெலேக்குக்கு இரண்டகம் பண்ணினார்கள்.

இணை வசனம்

அவன் தன்னைப்பார்க்கிலும் நீதியும் நற்குணமுமுள்ள இரண்டுபேராகிய நேரின் குமாரன் அப்னேர் என்னும் இஸ்ரவேலின் படைத்தலைவன் மேலும், ஏதேரின் குமாரன் அமாசா என்னும் யூதாவின் படைத்தலைவன்மேலும் விழுந்து, என் தகப்பனாகிய தாவீதுக்குத் தெரியாமல் அவர்களைப் பட்டயத்தால் கொன்ற அவனுடைய இரத்தப்பழியைக் கர்த்தர் அவனுடைய தலையின்மேல் திரும்பப்பண்ணுவாராக.

ஆனாலும் எஸ்தர், ராஜசமுகத்தில்போய், யூதருக்கு விரோதமாய் அவன் நினைத்த அவனுடைய பொல்லாத யோசனை அவனுடைய தலையின்மேல் திரும்பும்படி கட்டளை பிறப்பித்ததினாலே, அவனையும் அவன் குமாரரையும் மரத்திலே தூக்கிப்போட்டார்கள்.

அவன் தீவினை அவன் சிரசின்மேல் திரும்பும், அவன் கொடுமை அவன் உச்சந்தலையின்மேல் இறங்கும்.

நீங்கள் இருக்கும் தேசத்தைப் பரிசுத்தக் குலைச்சலாக்காதிருங்கள்; இரத்தம் தேசத்தைத் தீட்டுப்படுத்தும்; இரத்தம் சிந்தினவனுடைய இரத்தத்தினாலேயொழிய, வேறொன்றினாலும் தேசத்திலே சிந்துண்ட இரத்தத்திற்காகப் பாவநிவிர்த்தியில்லை.

குற்றமில்லாதவனைக் கொலைசெய்யும்படி பரிதானம் வாங்குகிறவன் சபிக்கப்பட்டவன் என்பார்களாக; ஜனங்களெல்லாரும் ஆமென் என்று சொல்லக்கடவர்கள்.

இப்படியே அபிமெலேக்கு தன்னுடைய எழுபது சகோதரரைக் கொலைசெய்ததினால், தன் தகப்பனுக்குச் செய்த பொல்லாப்பை தேவன் அவன்மேல் திரும்பும்படி செய்தார்.

சாமுவேல்: உன் பட்டயம் ஸ்திரீகளைப் பிள்ளையற்றவர்களாக்கினதுபோல, ஸ்திரீகளுக்குள்ளே உன் தாயும் பிள்ளையற்றவளாவாள் என்று சொல்லி; சாமுவேல் கில்காலிலே கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக ஆகாகைத் துண்டித்துப்போட்டான்.

ஆகையால், இதோ, தீர்க்கதரிசிகளையும் ஞானிகளையும் வேதபாரகரையும் உங்களிடத்திலே அனுப்புகிறேன்; அவர்களில் சிலரைக் கொன்று சிலுவைகளில் அறைவீர்கள், சிலரை உங்கள் ஆலயங்களின் வாரினால் அடித்து, ஊருக்கு ஊர் துன்பபடுத்துவீர்கள்.
