அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் எழுந்து, சவுலுக்கு முன்னாலே சீப் ஊருக்குப் போனார்கள்; தாவீதும் அவன் மனுஷரும் எஷிமோனுக்குத் தெற்கான அந்தர வெளியாகிய மாகோன் வனாந்தரத்தில் இருந்தார்கள்.

மாகோனிலே ஒரு மனுஷன் இருந்தான்; அவனுடைய தொழில்துறை கர்மேலில் இருந்தது; அந்த மனுஷன் மகா பாரிக் குடித்தனக்காரனாயிருந்தான்; அவனுக்கு மூவாயிரம் ஆடும், ஆயிரம் வெள்ளாடும் இருந்தது; அவன் அப்பொழுது கர்மேலில் தன் ஆடுகளை மயிர் கத்தரித்துக்கொண்டிருந்தான்.
