அப்படியே தேவனால் விடப்பட்ட ஆவி சவுலைப் பிடிக்கும்போது, தாவீது சுரமண்டலத்தை எடுத்து, தன் கையினால் வாசிப்பான்; அதினாலே பொல்லாத ஆவி அவனைவிட்டு நீங்க, சவுல் ஆறுதலடைந்து, சொஸ்தமாவான்.

அப்படியே தேவனால் விடப்பட்ட தீய ஆவி சவுலைப் பிடிக்கும்போது, தாவீது சுரமண்டலத்தை எடுத்து, தன்னுடைய கையினால் வாசிப்பான்; அதினாலே தீய ஆவி சவுலை விட்டு நீங்கி, ஆறுதலடைந்து, சுகமடைவான்.

எப்பொழுதாவது தேவனிடத்திலிருந்து சவுல் மேல் கெட்ட ஆவி வந்தால், தாவீது தன் சுரமண்டலத்தை மீட்டுவான். அப்போது அந்த கெட்ட ஆவி சவுலை விட்டு போய்விடும், சவுலும் நலம் பெறுவான்.
