தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்தில் ஓபேத் ஏதோமின் வசத்திலே அகப்பட்ட சகல பொன்னையும், வெள்ளியையும், சகல பணிமுட்டுகளையும், ராஜாவின் அரமனைப்பொக்கிஷங்களையும், கிரியிருப்பவர்களையும், பிடித்துக்கொண்டு சமாரியாவுக்குத் திரும்பிப்போனான்.

பிறகு யோவாஸ் தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்தில் இருந்த பொன்னையும், வெள்ளியையும், இன்னும் பல பொருட்களையும் கொண்டுப் போனான். ஓபேத் ஏதோம் ஆலயத்திலுள்ள பொருட்களுக்குப் பொறுப்பாளியாக இருந்தான். யோவாஸ் அரண்மனையிலுள்ள விலையுயர்ந்த பொருட்களையும் எடுத்துக் கொண்டான். சிலரைச் சிறைப்பிடித்தான். பின் சமாரியாவிற்குத் திரும்பிப்போனான்.

கடவுளின் இல்லத்தில் ஓபேது-ஏதோமின் பொறுப்பில் இருந்த அனைத்துப் பொன், வெள்ளி, அனைத்துக் கலன்கள், அரண்மனையின் கருவூலங்களில் இருந்தவை ஆகியவற்றைக் கொள்ளையடித்தான்; பிணைக் கைதிகளையும் சமாரியாவுக்கு இட்டுச் சென்றான்.
