அவன் தன் தகப்பனாகிய மனாசே செய்ததுபோல கர்த்தரின் பார்வைக்குப் பொல்லாப்பானதைச் செய்தான் தன் தகப்பனாகிய மனாசே பண்ணுவித்திருந்த விக்கிரகங்களுக்கெல்லாம் ஆமோன் பலியிட்டு, அவைகளைச் சேவித்தான்.

ஆமோன் கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக எல்லா வகையான தீயச் செயல்களையும் செய்தான். அவனது தந்தை மனாசே செய்தது போன்று நல்ல காரியங்களை ஆமோன் செய்யவேண்டும் என்று கர்த்தர் விரும்பினார். ஆனால் ஆமோன், மனாசே வைத்த விக்கிரகங்களுக்கு பலிகளை கொடுத்தான். இவ்விக்கிரகங்களை ஆமோன் வழிபட்டான்.
