Genesis 11:31
தேராகு தன் குமாரனாகிய ஆபிராமையும், ஆரானுடைய குமாரனும் தன் பேரனுமாயிருந்த லோத்தையும், தன் குமாரன் ஆபிராமுடைய மனைவியாகிய தன் மருமகள் சாராயையும் அழைத்துக்கொண்டு, அவர்களுடனே ஊர் என்கிற கல்தேயருடைய பட்டணத்தைவிட்டு, கானான் தேசத்துக்குப் போகப் புறப்பட்டான்; அவர்கள் ஆரான்மட்டும் வந்தபோது, அங்கே இருந்துவிட்டார்கள்.
Genesis 12:4
கர்த்தர் ஆபிராமுக்குச் சொன்னபடியே அவன் புறப்பட்டுப் போனான்; லோத்தும் அவனோடேகூடப் போனான். ஆபிராம் ஆரானைவிட்டுப் புறப்பட்டபோது, எழுபத்தைந்து வயதுள்ளவனாயிருந்தான்.

ஆபிராமின் சகோதரனுடைய குமாரனாகிய லோத்து சோதோமிலே குடியிருந்தபடியால், அவனையும் அவன் பொருள்களையும் கொண்டுபோய்விட்டார்கள்.
