அம்மோன் புத்திரரின் ராஜா யெப்தாவின் ஸ்தானாபதிகளை நோக்கி: இஸ்ரவேலர் எகிப்திலிருந்து வருகிறபோது, அர்னோன் துவக்கி யாபோக்மட்டும், யோர்தான்மட்டும் இருக்கிற என் தேசத்தைக் கட்டிக்கொண்டார்களே; இப்பொழுது அதை எனக்குச் சமாதானமாய்த் திரும்பக்கொடுத்துவிட வேண்டும் என்று சொல்லுங்கள் என்றான்.

அம்மோனிய ஜனங்களின் அரசன் யெப்தாவிடமிருந்து வந்தோருக்கு, “எகிப்திலிருந்து வந்தபோது இஸ்ரவேலர் எங்கள் தேசத்தை எடுத்துக்கொண்டதால் நாங்கள் இஸ்ரவேலை எதிர்த்துப் போர் செய்கிறோம். அர்னோன் நதியிலிருந்து யாபோக் நதி வரைக்கும் யோர்தான் நதிவரைக்கும் அவர்கள் எங்கள் தேசத்தை கைப்பற்றிக்கொண்டார்கள். இப்போது எங்கள் தேசத்தை அமைதியான முறையில் திரும்பக் கொடுத்துவிடுமாறு இஸ்ரவேலர்களிடம் கூறு” என்றான்.
