ஆண்டவர் என்னை நோக்கி: ஒரு கூலிக்காரனுடைய வருஷங்களுக்கொத்த ஒரே வருஷத்திலே கேதாருடைய மகிமையெல்லாம் அற்றுப்போம்.

அதற்கு ரப்சாக்கே: உங்களோடுகூடத் தங்கள் மலத்தைத் தின்னவும், தங்கள் நீரைக் குடிக்கவும், மதிலிலே தங்கியிருக்கிற ஆண்களிடத்திற்கே அல்லாமல், உன் எஜமானிடத்திற்கும், உன்னிடத்திற்குமா, என் எஜமான் இந்த வார்த்தைகளைப் பேச என்னை அனுப்பினார் என்று சொல்லி;

ஆனால் தளபதி, “எனது எஜமானர் இவற்றை உங்களிடமும் உங்கள் எஜமானர் எசேக்கியாவிடமும் மட்டும் கூற என்னை அனுப்பவில்லை. சுவர்களுக்கு மேல் உட்கார்ந்திருக்கிற அந்த ஜனங்களுக்கும் கூறுமாறு என்னை அனுப்பியுள்ளார். அந்த ஜனங்கள் போதுமான உணவையும் தண்ணீரையும் பெறுவதில்லை. அவர்கள் உங்களைப் போன்றே தங்கள் மலத்தை உண்ணவும் தங்கள் சிறுநீரைக் குடிக்கவும் செய்வார்கள்” என்றான்.

அதற்கு இரப்சாக்கே, “உங்களிடம் உங்கள் தலைவனிடமும் இந்த வார்த்தைகளைக் கூறுவதற்காகவா என்னை என் தலைவர் அனுப்பி வைத்துள்ளார்? உங்களுடன் தங்கள் மலத்தைத் தின்று தங்கள் சிறு நீரைக் குடிக்கப் போகிறவர்களாகிய சுவர்மேல் அமர்ந்திருக்கின்ற இந்த ஆள்களிடம் அறிவிப்பதற்கன்றோ என்னை அனுப்பியுள்ளார்” என்றான்.

But Rabshakeh said, Hath my master sent me to thy master and to thee to speak these words? hath he not sent me to the men that sit upon the wall, that they may eat their own dung, and drink their own piss with you?

But Rabshakeh said, Hath my master sent me to thy master, and to thee, to speak these words? `hath he’ not `sent me’ to the men that sit upon the wall, to eat their own dung, and to drink their own water with you?

அதற்கு ரப்சாக்கே உங்களோடுங்கூடத் தங்கள் மலத்தைத் தின்னவும், தங்கள் நீரைக் குடிக்கவும், அலங்கத்திலே தங்கியிருக்கிற புருஷரண்டக்கே அல்லாமல், உன் ஆண்டவனண்டைக்கும், உன்னண்டைக்குமா என் ஆண்டவன் இந்த வார்த்தைகளைப்பேச என்னை அனுப்பினார் என்று சொல்லி,
But Rabshakeh said, Hath my master sent me to thy master and to thee to speak these words? hath he not sent me to the men that sit upon the wall, that they may eat their own dung, and drink their own piss with you?
