என்மேல் கொடூரமுள்ளவராக மாறினீர்; உம்முடைய கரத்தின் வல்லமையால் என்னை விரோதிக்கிறீர்.

வம்சங்களின் தலைவரில் சிலர் எருசலேமிலுள்ள கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்திற்கு வந்தபோது, தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்தை அதன் ஸ்தானத்திலே எடுப்பிக்கும்படிக்கு, அதற்கான மன உற்சாகமாகக் காணிக்கைகளைக் கொடுத்தார்கள்.

இக்கூட்டம் எருசலேமிலுள்ள கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்திற்குப் போய்ச் சேர்ந்தது. பிறகு குடும்பத் தலைவர்கள் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்திற்காக அன்பளிப்புகளைக் கொடுத்தனர். ஆலயம் அழிக்கப்பட்ட இடத்திலேயே புதிய ஆலயத்தைக் கட்ட எண்ணினார்கள்.

நான் பாவஞ்செய்தால், அதை நீர் என்னிடத்தில் விசாரித்து, என் அக்கிரமத்தை என்மேல் சுமத்தாமல் விடீர்.

என்னைப் பகைக்கிறவனுடைய கோபம் என்னைப் பீறுகிறது, என்பேரில் பற்கடிக்கிறான்; என் சத்துரு கொடிய கண்ணினால் என்னைப் பார்க்கிறான்.

தேவன் என்னை நொறுக்கச் சித்தமாய், தம்முடைய கையை நீட்டி என்னைத் துண்டித்துப்போட்டால் நலமாயிருக்கும்.

மன்னுயிரைக் காப்பவரே, பாவஞ்செய்தேனானால் உமக்கு நான் செய்யவேண்டியது என்ன? நான் எனக்குத்தானே பாரமாயிருக்கும்படிக்கு, நீர் என்னை உமக்கு இலக்காக வைத்தது என்ன?

நீர் என்னை ஒடுக்கி, உம்முடைய கைகளின் கிரியையை வெறுத்து, துன்மார்க்கரின் யோசனையைக் கிருபையாய்ப் பார்க்கிறது நமக்கு நன்றாயிருக்குமோ?

காற்றடித்த சருகை நொறுக்குவீரோ? காய்ந்துபோன துரும்பைப் பின்தொடருவீரோ?

தேவன் என்னைக் கவிழ்த்து தம்முடைய வலையை என்மேல் வீசினார் என்று அறியுங்கள்.

தேவனைப்போல நீங்களும் என்னைத் துன்பப்படுத்துவானேன்? என் மாம்சம் பட்சிக்கப்பட்டாலும் நீங்கள் திருப்தியற்றிருக்கிறதென்ன?

அவர் தம்முடைய மகா வல்லமையின்படியே என்னோடே வழக்காடுவாரோ? அவர் அப்படிச் செய்யாமல் என்மேல் தயை வைப்பார்.

ஆண்டவர் நித்தியகாலமாய்த் தள்ளிவிடுவாரோ? இனி ஒருபோதும் தயைசெய்யாதிருப்பாரோ?

உமக்கு வல்லமையுள்ள புயமிருக்கிறது; உம்முடைய கரம் பராக்கிரமமுள்ளது; உம்முடைய வலதுகரம் உன்னதமானது.

உன் நேசர் யாவரும் உன்னை மறந்தார்கள்; அவர்கள் உன்னைத் தேடார்கள்; திரளான உன் அக்கிரமத்தினிமித்தமும், உன் பாவங்கள் பலத்துப்போனதினிமித்தமும், சத்துரு வெட்டும் வண்ணமாகவும், கொடியவன் தண்டிக்கிற வண்ணமாகவும் நான் உன்னைத் தண்டித்தேன்.
