சாலொமோனுடைய நாளெல்லாம் தாண் துவக்கிப் பெயெர்செபாமட்டும், யூதாவும் இஸ்ரவேலும் அவரவர் தங்கள் தங்கள் திராட்சச்செடியின் நிழலிலும், தங்கள் தங்கள் அத்திமரத்தின் நிழலிலும் சுகமாய்க் குடியிருந்தார்கள்.

அவனவன் தன்தன் திராட்சச்செடியின் நிழலிலும், தன்தன் அத்திமரத்தின் நிழலிலும் பயப்படுத்துவார் இல்லாமல் உட்காருவான்; சேனைகளுடைய கர்த்தரின் வாய் இதைச் சொல்லிற்று.

அந்நாளிலே நீங்கள் ஒருவரையொருவர் திராட்சச்செடியின் கீழும் அத்திமரத்தின்கீழும் வரவழைப்பீர்கள் என்று சேனைகளின் கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார் என்றார்.

அப்பொழுது தாண்முதல் பெயெர்செபாமட்டுமுள்ள இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் அனைவரும் கீலேயாத் தேசத்தாருடன் மிஸ்பாவிலே கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக ஏகோபித்து சபையாகக் கூடினார்கள்.

எசேக்கியாவின் சொல்லைக் கேளாதிருங்கள்; அசீரியா ராஜா சொல்லுகிறதாவது: நீங்கள் என்னோடே ராசியாகி, காணிக்கையோடே என்னிடத்தில் வாருங்கள்; நான் வந்து, உங்களை உங்கள் தேசத்துக்கு ஒப்பான தானியமும் திராட்சத்தோட்டமுமுள்ள தேசமும், அப்பமும் திராட்சரசமுமுள்ள தேசமும், ஒலிவ எண்ணெயும் தேனுமுள்ள தேசமுமாகிய சீமைக்கு அழைத்துக்கொண்டுபோகுமளவும்,

அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் இஸ்ரவேலிலே அன்று காலமே தொடங்கி குறித்தகாலம்வரைக்கும் கொள்ளைநோயை வரப்பண்ணினார்; அதினால் தாண்முதல் பெயெர்செபாமட்டுமுள்ள ஜனங்களில் எழுபதினாயிரம்பேர் செத்துப்போனார்கள்.

இனிக் கொடுமை உன் தேசத்திலும், அழிவும் நாசமும் உன் எல்லைகளிலும் கேட்கப்படமாட்டாது; உன் மதில்களை இரட்சிப்பென்றும் உன்வாசல்களைத் துதியென்றும் சொல்லுவாய்.

இதோ, நாட்கள் வருமென்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார், அப்பொழுது தாவீதுக்கு ஒரு நீதியுள்ள கிளையை எழும்பப்பண்ணுவேன்; அவர் ராஜாவாயிருந்து ஞானமாய் ராஜரிகம்பண்ணி, பூமியிலே நியாயத்தையும் நீதியையும் நடப்பிப்பார்.

அந்நாட்களிலும் அக்காலத்திலும் தாவீதுக்கு நீதியின் கிளையை முளைக்கப்பண்ணுவேன்; அவர் பூமியிலே நியாயத்தையும் நீதியையும் நடப்பிப்பார்.

உன் இருதயத்தில் யோசனைகள் எழும்ப, நீ பொல்லாத நினைவை நினைத்து,
