நாங்கள் அவர்களை விட்டுப் பிரிந்து, துறைபெயர்ந்தபின்பு, நேராயோடி, கோஸ்தீவையும், மறுநாளில் ரோதுதீவையும் சேர்ந்து, அவ்விடம் விட்டுப் பத்தாரா பட்டணத்துக்கு வந்து,

அவன் கிறிஸ்துவினுடைய ஆத்துமா பாதாளத்திலே விடப்படுவதில்லையென்றும், அவருடைய சரீரம் அழிவைக் காண்பதில்லையென்றும் முன்பே அறிந்து, அவர் உயிர்த்தெழுதலைக்குறித்து இப்படிச் சொன்னான்.

அது நடக்கும் முன்பே தாவீது அதனை அறிந்திருந்தான். எனவேதான் அவரைக் குறித்து தாவீது இவ்வாறு கூறினான். “‘அவர் மரணத்தின் இடத்தில் விடப்படவில்லை. அவர் சரீரம் கல்லறையில் அழுகவில்லை.’ தாவீது மரணத்தின்று எழும்பும் கிறிஸ்துவைக் குறித்துப் பேசினான்.

பிள்ளையாண்டான் போனபின்பு, தாவீது தென்புறமான இடத்திலிருந்து எழுந்துவந்து, தரையிலே முகங்குப்புற விழுந்து, மூன்றுவிசை வணங்கினான்; அவர்கள் ஒருவரை ஒருவர் முத்தஞ்செய்து அழுதார்கள்; தாவீது மிகவும் அழுதான்.

அவர் போதகம்பண்ணி முடித்தபின்பு சீமோனை நோக்கி: ஆழத்திலே தள்ளிக்கொண்டுபோய், மீன்பிடிக்கும்படி உங்கள் வலைகளைப் போடுங்கள் என்றார்.

பின்பு ஒருநாள் அவர் தமது சீஷரோடுங்கூடப் படவில் எறி: கடலின் அக்கரைக்குப் போவோம் வாருங்கள் என்றார்; அப்படியே புறப்பட்டுப் போனார்கள்.

அவ்விடம்விட்டு நாங்கள் புறப்பட்டு, எதிர்காற்றாயிருந்தபடியினால், சீப்புருதீவின் ஒதுக்கிலே ஓடினோம்.

சகோதரரே, நாங்கள் இருதயத்தின்படி உங்களோடிருந்து, சரீரத்தின்படி கொஞ்சக்காலம் உங்களைவிட்டுப் பிரிந்திருந்தபடியினாலே, உங்கள் முகத்தைப்பார்க்கவேண்டுமென்று மிகுந்த ஆசையோடே அதிகமாய்ப் பிரயத்தனம்பண்ணினோம்.
