யுத்தம்பண்ண இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு எதிராகவரும்படிக்கு, அவர்களுடைய இருதயம் கடினமானதும், இப்படியே அவர்கள்பேரில் இரக்கம் உண்டாகாமல், கர்த்தர் மோசேக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டபடி, அவர்களை அழித்துச் சங்காரம்பண்ணினதும் கர்த்தரால் வந்த காரியமாயிருந்தது.

இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் மறுபடியும் கர்த்தரின் பார்வைக்குப் பொல்லாப்பானதைச் செய்தபடியால், கர்த்தர் அவர்களை நாற்பது வருஷமளவும் பெலிஸ்தர் கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார்.

அப்பொழுது யூதாவிலே மூவாயிரம் பேர் ஏத்தாம் ஊர்க் கன்மலைச் சந்திற்குப்போய் பெலிஸ்தர் நம்மை ஆளுகிறார்கள் என்று தெரியாதா? பின்னை ஏன் எங்களுக்கு இப்படிச் செய்தாய் என்று சிம்சோனிடத்தில் சொன்னார்கள். அதற்கு அவன்: அவர்கள் எனக்குச் செய்தபடியே நானும் அவர்களுக்குச் செய்தேன் என்றான்.

சகலமும் குறைவுபட்டு, பட்டினியோடும் தாகத்தோடும் நிர்வாணத்தோடும், கர்த்தர் உனக்கு விரோதமாய் அனுப்பும் சத்துருக்களைச் சேவிப்பாய்; அவர்கள் உன்னை அழித்துத் தீருமட்டும், இருப்பு நுகத்தடியை உன் கழுத்தின்மேல் போடுவார்கள்.

ராஜா ஜனங்களுக்குச் செவிகொடாமற்போனான்; கர்த்தர் சீலோனியனான அகியாவைக்கொண்டு நேபாத்தின் குமாரனாகிய யெரொபெயாமுக்குச் சொன்ன தம்முடைய வார்த்தையை உறுதிப்படுத்தும்படி கர்த்தரால் இப்படி நடந்தது.

அவர்களோடே அவன் பேசிக்கொண்டிருக்கையில், அந்த ஆள் அவனிடத்தில் வந்து: இதோ, இந்தப் பொல்லாப்பு கர்த்தரால் உண்டானது; நான் இனிக் கர்த்தருக்காகக் காத்திருக்க வேண்டியது என்ன என்று ராஜா சொல்லுகிறார் என்றான்.

ராஜா ஜனங்களுக்குச் செவிகொடாமற்போனான், கர்த்தர் சீலோனியனான அகியாவைக்கொண்டு நேபாத்தின் குமாரனாகிய யெரொபெயாமுக்குச் சொன்ன தமது வார்த்தையை உறுதிப்படுத்தும்படி தேவனாலே இப்படி நடந்தது.

அகசியா யோராமிடத்துக்கு வந்தது அவனுக்கு தேவனால் உண்டான கேடாக லபித்தது; எப்படியென்றால், அவன் வந்தபோது யோராமுடனே கூட, கர்த்தர் ஆகாபின் குடும்பத்தாரைச் சங்கரிக்க அபிஷேகம்பண்ணுவித்த நிம்சியின் குமாரனாகிய யெகூவுக்கு நேராக வெளியே போனான்.

ஆனாலும் அமத்சியா செவிகொடாதேபோனான்; அவர்கள் ஏதோமின் தெய்வங்களை நாடினதினிமித்தம் அவர்களை அவர்கள் சத்துருக்கள் கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கும்படிக்கு தேவனாலே இப்படி நடந்தது.

நம்முடைய தேவன் பரலோகத்தில் இருக்கிறார்; தமக்குச் சித்தமான யாவையும் செய்கிறார்.
