இயேசுவைப்பிடித்தவர்கள் அவரைப் பிரதான ஆசாரியனாகிய காய்பாவினிடத்திற்குக் கொண்டுபோனார்கள்; அங்கே வேதபாரகரும் மூப்பரும் கூடிவந்திருந்தார்கள்.

அவர் நெருக்கப்பட்டும் ஒடுக்கப்பட்டும் இருந்தார், ஆனாலும் தம்முடைய வாயை அவர் திறக்கவில்லை; அடிக்கப்படும்படி கொண்டுபோகப்படுகிற ஒரு ஆட்டுக் குட்டியைப்போலவும், தன்னை மயிர்கத்தரிக்கிறவனுக்கு முன்பாகச் சத்தமிடாதிருக்கிற ஆட்டைப்போலவும், அவர் தம்முடைய வாயைத் திறவாதிருந்தார்.

அப்பொழுது, பிரதான ஆசாரியரும் வேதபாரகரும் ஜனத்தின் மூப்பரும், காய்பா என்னப்பட்ட பிரதான ஆசாரியனுடைய அரமனையிலே கூடிவந்து,

பொழுது விடிந்தவுடனே, பிரதான ஆசாரியரும் மூப்பரும் வேதபாரகரும் ஆலோசனைச் சங்கத்தாரனைவரும் கூடி ஆலோசனைபண்ணி, இயேசுவைக் கட்டிக் கொண்டுபோய், பிலாத்துவினிடத்தில் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார்கள்.

அவர்கள் அவரைப் பிடித்தபின்பு, பிரதான ஆசாரியனுடைய வீட்டில் கொண்டுபோய் விட்டார்கள். பேதுருவும் தூரத்திலே பின்சென்றான்.

அப்பொழுது போர்ச்சேவகரும், ஆயிரம் போர்ச்சேவகருக்குத் தலைவனும், யூதருடைய ஊழியக்காரரும் இயேசுவைப்பிடித்து, அவரைக் கட்டி,

பிரதான ஆசாரியன் இயேசுவினிடத்தில் அவருடைய சீஷரைக்குறித்தும் போதகத்தைக்குறித்தும் விசாரித்தான்.

மறுநாளிலே ஜனங்களுடைய அதிகாΰிகளும் மூப்பரும் வேதபாரகரும்,
