யோசுவா 11:21
அக்காலத்திலே யோசுவா போய், மலைத்தேசமாகிய எபிரோனிலும் தெபீரிலும் ஆனாபிலும் யூதாவின் சகல மலைகளிலும் இஸ்ரவேலின் சகல மலைகளிலும் இருந்த ஏனாக்கியரை நிக்கிரகம்பண்ணி அவர்களை அவர்கள் பட்டணங்களோடும்கூடச் சங்கரித்தான்.

தங்கள் பிதாகளுடைய குடும்பங்களின்படி, தகப்பன்மார்களில் தலைவனாக இருந்த லேவி சந்ததிகளின்படி பெயர்பெயராக குறிக்கப்பட்டபடி, தலைதலையாக எண்ணப்பட்ட இருபது வயதுமுதல் அதற்கு மேற்பட்ட இவர்களுடைய சந்ததியார்கள் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்துப் பணிவிடையைச் செய்தார்கள்.

இவர்கள் லேவியரின் சந்ததியினர். அவர்கள் குடும்ப வாரியாகக் கணக்கிடப்பட்டனர். அவர்கள் குடும்பத் தலைவர்களாக இருந்தனர். ஒவ்வொருவரின் பெயரும் பட்டியலிடப்பட்டது. இருபதும், அதற்கு மேலும் உள்ள வயதினர் பட்டியலிடப்பட்டனர். அவர்கள் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தில் பணி செய்தனர்.
