கர்த்தாவே, நீரே என் பங்கு; நான் உமது வசனங்களைக் கைக்கொள்ளுவேன் என்றேன்.

ஆகையால் கர்த்தருக்கு இஸ்ரவேலர்களின்மேல் கோபமூண்டு, அவர்களைச் சீரியாவின் ராஜாவாகிய ஆசகேலின் கையிலும் ஆசகேலின் மகனாகிய பெனாதாத்தின் கையிலும் அந்நாட்களிலெல்லாம் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார்.

அதனால் இஸ்ரவேலர்மேல் கர்த்தருக்கு கோபம் வந்தது. எனவே அவர்களை கர்த்தர் ஆராம் அரசன் ஆசகேலின் கையிலும் ஆசகேலின் மகனான பெனாதாத் கையிலும் ஒப்படைத்தார்.
