யோசேப்பு தன் சகோதரரை நோக்கி: நான் மரணமடையப் போகிறேன்; ஆனாலும் தேவன் உங்களை நிச்சயமாய்ச் சந்தித்து, நீங்கள் இந்தத் தேசத்தை விட்டு, தாம் ஆபிரகாமுக்கும் ஈசாக்குக்கும் யாக்கோபுக்கும் ஆணையிட்டுக் கொடுத்திருக்கிற தேசத்துக்குப் போகப் பண்ணுவார் என்று சொன்னதுமன்றி;

மரணம் நெருங்கியதும் யோசேப்பு தன் சகோதரர்களிடம், “எனது மரண நேரம் நெருங்கிவிட்டது. தேவன் உங்களை கவனித்துக்கொள்வார் என்பதை நான் அறிவேன். உங்களை இந்த நாட்டிலிருந்து வெளியே அழைத்துச் செல்வார். ஆபிரகாம், ஈசாக்கு, யாக்கோபு ஆகியோருக்கு தேவன் கொடுப்பதாகச் சொன்ன நாடுகளை உங்களுக்குக் கொடுப்பார்” என்றான்.

யோசேப்பு தம் சகோதரரிடம், “நான் சாகும் வேளை வந்துவிட்டது. ஆனால், கடவுள் உங்களைக் கனிவுடன் சந்திக்க உறுதியாக வருவார். ஆபிரகாம், ஈசாக்கு யாக்கோபுக்குத் தாம் கொடுப்பதாக வாக்களித்த நாட்டிற்கு இந்த நாட்டிலிருந்து அவர் உங்களை அழைத்துச் செல்வார்” என்றார்.
