லூக்கா 15
25 அவனுடைய மூத்தகுமாரன் வயலிலிருந்தான். அவன் திரும்பி வீட்டுக்குச் சமீபமாய் வருகிறபோது, கீத வாத்தியத்தையும், நடனக்களிப்பையும் கேட்டு;
26 ஊழியக்காரரில் ஒருவனை அழைத்து: இதென்ன என்று விசாரித்தான்.
27 அதற்கு அவன்: உம்முடைய சகோதரன் வந்தார், அவர் மறுபடியும் சுகத்துடனே உம்முடைய தகப்பனிடத்தில் வந்து சேர்ந்தபடியினாலே அவருக்காகக் கொழுத்த கன்றை அடிப்பித்தார் என்றான்.
28 அப்பொழுது அவன் கோபமடைந்து, உள்ளே போக மனதில்லாதிருந்தான். தகப்பனோ வெளியே வந்து, அவனை வருந்தியழைத்தான்.
29 அவன் தகப்பனுக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: இதோ, இத்தனை வருஷகாலமாய் நான் உமக்கு ஊழியஞ்செய்து, ஒருக்காலும் உம்முடைய கற்பனையை மீறாதிருந்தும், என் சிநேகிதரோடே நான் சந்தோஷமாயிருக்கும்படி நீர் ஒருக்காலும் எனக்கு ஒரு ஆட்டுக்குட்டியையாவது கொடுக்கவில்லை.
30 வேசிகளிடத்தில் உம்முடைய ஆஸ்தியை அழித்துப்போட்ட உம்முடைய குமாரனாகிய இவன் வந்தவுடனே கொழுத்த கன்றை இவனுக்காக அடிப்பித்தீரே என்றான்.
31 அதற்குத் தகப்பன்: மகனே, நீ எப்போதும் என்னோடிருக்கிறாய், எனக்குள்ளதெல்லாம் உன்னுடையதாயிருக்கிறது.
25 Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard musick and dancing.
26 And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant.
27 And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound.
28 And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and intreated him.
29 And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:
30 But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.
31 And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.

10 உடனே சகோதரர் இராத்திரிகாலத்திலே பவுலையும் சீலாவையும் பெரோயா பட்டணத்துக்கு அனுப்பிவிட்டார்கள்; அவர்கள் அங்கே சேர்ந்து, யூதருடைய ஜெபஆலயத்திற்குப் போனார்கள்.
And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews.
11 அந்தப் பட்டணத்தார் மனோவாஞ்சையாய் வசனத்தை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டு, காரியங்கள் இப்படியிருக்கிறதா என்று தினந்தோறும் வேதவாக்கியங்களை ஆராய்ந்துபார்த்ததினால், தெசலோனிக்கேயில் உள்ளவர்களைப்பார்க்கிலும் நற்குணசாலிகளாயிருந்தார்கள்.
These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
12 அதனால் அவர்களில் அநேகம்பேரும் கனம்பொருந்திய கிரேக்கரில் அநேக ஸ்திரீகளும் புருஷர்களும் விசுவாசித்தார்கள்.
Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few.
13 பெரோயாவிலும் தேவவசனம் பவுலினால் அறிவிக்கப்படுகிறதென்று தெசலோனிக்கேயரான யூதர்கள் அறிந்தபோது அங்கேயும் வந்து, ஜனங்களைக் கிளப்பிவிட்டார்கள்.
But when the Jews of Thessalonica had knowledge that the word of God was preached of Paul at Berea, they came thither also, and stirred up the people.
14 உடனே சகோதரர் பவுலைச் சமுத்திரவழியாய்ப் போக அனுப்பிவிட்டார்கள். சீலாவும் தீமோத்தேயும் அங்கே தங்கியிருந்தார்கள்.
And then immediately the brethren sent away Paul to go as it were to the sea: but Silas and Timotheus abode there still.
15 பவுலை வழிநடத்தினவர்கள் அவனை அத்தேனே பட்டணம்வரைக்கும் அழைத்துக்கொண்டுபோய்; அங்கே சீலாவும் தீமோத்தேயும் அதிசீக்கிரமாகத் தன்னிடத்திற்கு வரும்படி அவர்களுக்குச் சொல்லக் கட்டளை பெற்றுக்கொண்டு புறப்பட்டுப்போனார்கள்.
And they that conducted Paul brought him unto Athens: and receiving a commandment unto Silas and Timotheus for to come to him with all speed, they departed.
